On June 12, 2026, Yokohama National University (YNU) hosted a joint research seminar with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

The seminar brought together researchers and students working in marine and offshore engineering, coastal engineering, offshore wind energy, wave dynamics, and computational hydrodynamics. PhD candidates, master’s students, and researchers from both institutions presented their latest research and exchanged ideas through active discussions.

As part of its mission to strengthen global collaboration in shipbuilding and ocean engineering, the Shipbuilding and Ocean Renaissance International Center (SORIC) supports opportunities for international networking and knowledge exchange. This seminar served as an important step toward future research collaboration and student mobility between the two institutions.

SORIC will continue to promote international partnerships that contribute to the advancement of research and education in shipbuilding, ocean engineering, and related fields.
